The challenge: This was the first part of the Temple Leeds masterplan, an initiative to transform a challenging triangular site into a state-of-the-art Grade A office space. CEG sought to create a next-generation workspace to set new standards in building performance, occupant wellbeing and sustainability. Challenges included managing a complex construction program during the pandemic and addressing budgetary pressures due to inflation and supply chain disruptions. Post-handover, extensive performance monitoring and seasonal commissioning were key to aligning the building’s operation with its design intent. Despite these hurdles, the project achieved a BREEAM New Construction Excellent rating and BREEAM-In Use Outstanding rating.
