Capella, London.
Like a “small piece of city”: King's Cross housing-plus.

It was so satisfying to see the teams’ efforts come to life and the project getting a RIBA award.

Personal highlght

It was exciting to see the progress from one week to the next. Architecturally, it’s so striking with its green façade, its aspirational apartments with double-height living rooms, and its penthouse apartments with wonderful terraces.

The client: Allies and Morrison

The sector: Residential, Retail

The expertise: MEP, Sustainability, Acoustics and Fire Engineering

The challenge: To ensure the quality of the installation was maintained throughout construction of one of the final buildings to complete on the King’s Cross masterplan. To achieve a balance of affordable and high-end residential apartments within one building and create enjoyable external terrace spaces for all building tenants.

The connection to the King's Cross district heating and cooling network means that the building can provide ongoing, efficient occupant comfort for years to come.
